Mid PHP developer (m/f)

We are looking for a skilled Mid Backend Developer with solid PHP and Symfony experience to join our team. You’ll work on building scalable, maintainable backend systems while collaborating with other developers and learning from experienced team members.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in backend development but wants to continue growing technically and professionally within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain advanced backend solutions using PHP and the Symfony framework
Design, implement, and optimize MySQL or other relational databases
Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following best practices
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving team standards
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams
Help identify and solve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges
Learn from senior team members and actively contribute to team growth and continuous improvement

Required skills and knowledge

3+ years of experience as a Backend or Software Developer
Solid knowledge of PHP and Symfony
Experience working with relational databases (MySQL or similar)
Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows (branches, pull requests, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to write maintainable, testable and efficient code
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, grow and contribute within a team
Good written and verbal English communication skills

Additional Advantage(s)

Experience with Docker and/or containerized environments
Knowledge of API standards (REST, JSON:API, or GraphQL)
Exposure to message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ)
Understanding of microservices architecture
German language skills
